Even if you don't believe there is a significant threat that Trump will issue an illegal order, how can someone not understand their opponents being fearful of the possibility?

Genuinely the decision to pursue 3 racketeering cases they promptly ate shit on (Trump, Young Thug, and Cop City) is it's own special mess completely divorced from other issues with the treatment of Trump by the powers that be.
They had an open and shut false statements case but decided to go big.

Since Bremerton where the majority opinion where the majority opinion cited the coach's testimony as an accurate reading of the facts while the minority opinion has photos showing the statements are false I think lying to the Supreme Court to create a scenario that they will agree with is key.

I am framing it as "either she is 100% innocent or she is guilty but they can't prove it without implicating themselves in behavior worse than what is already in the public record" to point out that there is no good fact scenario for the feds here.

I know that the case is likely 100% fake, but considering they are refusing to shut up about the allegation despite dropping the case non-zero chance there was a seed that could win in court they gave up on to keep the judge/defense from seeing the text messages (which would also be a bad sign.)

Incredible content to try to offer the staid "I gave a lawful order that the suspect refused to comply with and actively resisted requiring me to detain him", admit that is not what is depicted in the video, but maintain the accuracy of your statement trumps the evidence.

Ironically best case for the feds in that it likely gives them the opportunity to refile charges and then rehear the case on all the OTHER reasons to dismiss.
