I laughed far too hard at this...

My kids book club just finished Midnight at the Barclay Hotel, so we had our discussion while playing mystery boardgames - Outfoxed, classic Clue, and Junior Detective. We had a blast!

This librarian will be doing no such thing.

This is seriously the Dumbest Apocalypse Ever. 0/5 stars. Do not recommend.

I never thought I would live to see an unchecked coup in the United States of America.

All of that to say that stress levels in our community are extremely high right now and that means we're seeing it at play in the library.

I don't want to go to work today. Shit's scary. I don't know if I can put on my customer service face with people wearing MAGA hats.

Me (40 minutes before kids book club): "God, I hope nobody drops perler beads today."

Me (20 minutes before kids book club): "Pleasant mother pheasant plucker..."

Teaching my puppy the importance of having a variety of diverse friends. He loves seeing the world from her point of view.

Ok librarians. Nobody better be planning a fucking Dick Van Dyke 100th birthday program for next year. You remember that we accidentally jinxed Betty White with that shit, right?

Today was Ozobot Turkey Trot day and we had a ton of fun! Sure made the afternoon fly by as well.

When I get calls from my former corporate employer about job openings in IT or Records Management (my previous positions), they don't understand why I laugh and decline.

Today I ran a book club for 4-6th graders where we read books and make themed crafts. Can your cubicle farm beat that?

A picture of our library staff at a Pride celebration is getting some hate online. None from actual cardholders or even residents of our town.

One claimed that we were losing followers, so I checked the stats. We gained 81 followers today, lost 24, so we're still up 57 from yesterday...

Obligatory aurora photos.

Also, what my camera saw was way cooler than what my eyeballs saw. All my eyes picked up were light pink, light purple, and cloudy white smears. Which was cool but not what I was expecting. Then I saw what my camera lens saw...

We had an author visit with #TravisBaldree and 2 people showed up in Legends & Lattes cosplay! The coffee shop in our lobby stayed open late and they had themed drink specials (cinnamon roll latte and Scalvert's Stone Italian Soda). It was an awesome night! #LibraryLife

Our classroom space has glass windows/doors and we put up decals because people kept walking into them. Bloody noses and incident reports. We had enough decals for all but one window in a back corner. It's been 5 years since the last incident, then somebody slammed into it yesterday at full tilt.

It's spring break. The library is full of people...

How was being today's #SaturdayLibrarian, you ask? Well, we just found this on a nonfiction shelf in the 800s.
