The essence of democracy is inclusion:
'Government of the people by the people for the people.' (Lincoln)

Democracy works best when all those impacted by decisions are included in the decision making process. There are better decisions and better outcomes.

But an FF Government renaming Dublin Airport after an FF Taoiseach, for no reason at all is OK.

If it's fine to leave it as it is, then leave it as it is - both Park AND Airport.

Roman Catholic Mother and Baby Home deaths in Ireland between 1922 and 1998 approximated 9,000 infants.

Pope Leo XIV condemned the use of religion for justifying "war," "violence" or "fanaticism" – instead urging Catholics to mobilize their faith and unify others "regardless of ethnicity, nationality, religion or personal perspectives."

Remember - if you're financially in a position to do so, skip the #BlackFriday deals online from big companies and shop instead from small and local businesses.
The big guns don't need your money, but for small traders it can be what keeps them going into 2026, so support your community instead.

Many TDs & Senators learn & practice political ploys to retain power & serve vested interests.

They forget that the job is good governance to serve the people & the national interest.

Say daily:

"I promise to serve the people & the national interest with honesty, integrity & accountability."
Honestly not a bad thing. Not in reference to the individuals featured here but in general. A career primarily in politics isn't great for most people, with few exceptions. That includes time spent as advisors, assistants, whatever. They get trapped in a bubble and distanced from the real world.

Looks like Irish taxpayers are directly funding the Russian war in Ukraine & the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

If Micheál Martin won't take action to stop either of these atrocities could he at least take action to stop us directly supporting them.

Which bit of 'Ireland is neutral' doesn't he get?

Analog Devices International is sending parts from its Limerick factory to the Israel Defense Forces' largest weapons supplier

The IDA gave it €85 million last year

Its microchips were recently found in Russian weapons used to attack Ukraine

Helen McEntee has marked the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women by saying she will continue to push for accountability and prevention at every level.

The anti violence Defence Minister.

'Hey guys, if anyone attacks Ireland, whatever you do, don't shoot!'

When the music stops...

No relevant education or background.

No real governing, just incompetents playing politics.

Always financial mismanagement for vested interests.

Never economic development for the national interest.

But Irish taxpayers continue to suffer, and foot the bill.

Hildegarde Naughton will be new Education Minister. Simon Harris will take finance, Helen McEntee foreign affairs and defence. Emer Higgins will be the new FG super junior at Dept of Children. Frank Feighan will be a junior minister for public procurement. @virginmedianews.bsky.social

Now McEntee is Foreign and Defence Minister will she stop the USA arming the Israeli genocide by banning over flying Irish airspace & stopping at Irish airports?

Appeal to maternal common sense or just do what CS officials tell her to do?

Morality & critical reasoning or accept & obey?

Yates saying his comments 'were weaponised', is like saying, 'I only put a loaded rifle on the table, it was others who used it.'

His claims to innocence are a brazen pretence.

All along he knew what he was doing.

Ironic that ex-military Jim didn't know how to use a powerful weapon. Connolly did.
