Genuine question for Mini Painters; what paints and strategies do you use to paint darker skin shades? I have little experience either due to models I paint being Orks, rats, or because I don't have great paints for darker tones/lack of experience.

My plan is to commit to streaming Tuesday and Thursday evenings, along with every other Friday (off-weeks of my TTRPG campaign) and hopefully some collabs on Saturdays/Sundays.

Blakkbeard, a model from Mekka Miniatures who proxys as Ghazghkull. I'm real happy with how he came out! Might add some Kroot skulls on a chain hanging under his parrot squig since my pal's Kroot/Tau army and my Orks are at odds in our headcanon.

I think I've improved at painting a bit. Definitely got better at not using over-thick paints and highlighting.

Think I'm going to keep the bright green base rims, and I still need to get grass on it, but I'm happy. :D

Two prints of the same model, a Lizardmen Skink for Blood Bowl running. Both are painted in a very similar color scheme, but the model on the left is painted with really thick paint and looks, by the creator's opinion, a lot worse. It lacks highlights or shading, and looks lumpy. The one on the right has paints thinned appropriately, with proper highlights and eyes with actual pupils. I found out Morgrem and Grimmsnarl exist. I'd like to see your take on a female variant of either since they're also male-only by default. Also because I *never see them anywhere*.

Totally not biased since they're the closest pokemon to an Orc in universe.
