"Weatherman single dad doing a hellava job raising his three buff sons" is a genre I can get behind. Haha, You Clowns is the weirdest, sweetest series since Joe Pera Talks With You.

Just me here wondering if I now need to go and stockpile the only painkiller my digestive system will allow me to take before brainworm tries to ban it.
Just a reminder before the “big announcement” today.

Autism was discovered in 1911 and the modern definition of Autism came in 1943.

Tylenol wasn’t widely used until the 1950s.

Anyone trying to tell you that Tylenol causes Autism isn’t someone that should be taken seriously.

If you prefer science over brainworms, today's a great day to get your shots. Just did so at CVS, zero questions asked.
Just a heads up. I was able to schedule my COVID vaccine appointment. Online it will ask “do you have a condition that puts you at high risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19 virus.”

Click yes and it will allow you to schedule an appointment.

No questions asked.

No proof required.

Pass it on.

I caught a preview of this last night and it is as bonkers and hilarious as you'd expect (with bonus Julia Davis - which the world always needs more of).
It's been two years since THE TOXIC AVENGER melted faces at its Fantastic Fest premiere.

Now, it's finally out in theaters.

Go see the movie that got this reaction out of @fangoria.bsky.social and @thekingcast.bsky.social raconteur Scott Wampler. 💚

While everyone else at the cinema was doing the jumpscares and muttering "WTF" at the villain in Weapons, I couldn't help but think, "I'd totally wear that outfit." #stylegoals #auntgladys

I had the honour of having his review of my film in 'Variety' appear on the same page as the one for 'Gigli' - and mine was WORSE!
This curmudgeon was a big part of getting teen dork me interested in films. I was quietly honoured to read his one review of a thing we wrote in his Australia At the Movies book. Now I can forever put "incoherent" - David Stratton on my bio. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-08...

I've seen this on Bluesky and had to try it myself. The image below was the response to the prompt: "Show me a diagram of the US presidents since Herbert Hoover, with their names and years in office under their photos" Bravo, OpenAI, bravo.

If you get the chance to catch Edi Patterson doing her solo improv show, snap up those tickets. Her brain is so fantastically unhinged. Laughed my whole face off.

Out of frustration of how the conversation is so single focused in Tasmania I wrote this piece published in today’s media.

Also, five stars to the new coffee shop Jalsah, in case DTLA folks want to support a cool new migrant-run business slinging strong coffees and amazing-looking homemade Yemeni cakes. They also make an Aussie-approved flat white. www.yelp.com/biz/jalsah-y...

Just wandered around DTLA between Broadway - 7th Metro and down to 11th. It's not a war zone. Broadway's already cleaned up and people are going about their business. Got an excellent coffee from a new Yemeni coffee shop. Picked up some fruit. This town deals with a lot of shit but it's resilient.

The reason generative AI is so popular with wannabe creatives is best illustrated by something every pro writer has encountered: getting pitched an idea by someone saying "You write it and we'll split the profits!" because they think the idea is what has value, not the writing. The opposite is true.

This past semester was the most stressful of my academic career. I had 180 students and about half cheated at some point in the semester

They submit weekly reflections where the questions are opinion-based, graded only on effort, don't care about grammar
