I think someone asked how I got so close. Bluesky is acting peculiar. I cannot see the comment. Anyway, like so many thing in life, it was luck. Lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time...and being prepared for when luck strikes.

Yes. Snorkeling is by permit. The permit is by day for up to 6 people. It is expensive and without a full group, prohibitively so. Permits were relatively limited until a year ago. They changed the rules and it might be to the detriment of the animals.
