Did a 197 to Shrewsbury from Manchester. No complaints. Still nowhere near the comfort of the Mk4s.

Sadly this is common place in Green Party politics, yet they always describe themselves as progressive alternatives.

Don’t mind disagreement if it’s genuine and people have different opinions but ones with experience. But I can’t see the issue I raised being addressed. As someone who grew up on a council estate, who is to the left, all I can say is the modern left doesn’t attract working class people anymore.

Can’t say that!

I am to the left. And compromise is always required. Sadly, there’s a bunch of people who are puritans and nothing else will do.

People like you are the reason why the populist right exist. Alan Johnson described it perfectly. You couldn’t lead the working class out of a paper bag.

And this is where the far right populists will win. With those on the left unable to accept some form of compromise.

Accountability is definitely needed. But that’s what TfN/rail north already do and it works reasonably well.

Just as bad as what I call Burnham rail. No thoughts to the running of the railway, never mind T&Cs etc.

Decision making need to be made in the interest of customers and the railway. We've already seen it with the ECML timetable, that those decisions aren't happening - see Northallerton with the DEC timetable change.

Also see Southport services, which should've been diverted to MCV as part of the Manchester task force. But that would've limited connectivity.

Rail user groups & local stakeholders want direct services to every location, which isn't realistic or possible and usually flows are minimal at best!
