Just spent half an hour trying to remove cloudiness from the outside of my windscreen. Turns out it's on the inside. 🤦

Tidal's Android Auto experience is far superior to Spotify's as well. #winning

My wife is in agreement. We are moving the family plan from Spotify to Tidal. 🥳

Cat started drinking A LOT. Our oldest cat died of severe kidney failure earlier in the year, so we of course took him for a blood test. €140 later, he's fine, just thirsty. Ffs. Pets. 🙄

You know what's really funny about this? LITERALLY THIS MORNING in English class here in France we were talking about how the cultural "French Christmas" is being eroded by […]

We had a terrible, potentially drug-related car accident in this region a few days ago, the reactions of the politicians are stark and telling. The two members of the assemblée nationale (both extreme right) have pounced on the opportunity to rant on about clamping down on drugs. The two local […]

This is really interesting. The prevalent thinking is you put #solar panels on set-aside land not being used for anything else (or rooftops, of course). But actually creating a partial canopy of solar panels over crops can *improve* yields without losing farmland, the same sort of win win […]

Well, I don't generally go around punching *anybody* in the face, but the dude has a point...

Turns out there are way more companies out there using #redmine than I realised. Amazing they're letting LDAP support lapse. 😩

If you're a #php developer who uses #ddev you might be interested in checking out what I've been up to making @codeenigma's ce-deploy (#ansible stack for app deployment) work inside DDEV, both already support #drupal, #symfony, #wordpress, etc. It allows developers to test their server […]

I'm preparing a briefing on #sealevelrise and my hunt for an image led me to the wikipedia page and holy moly it's good...

If you want to learn about many different aspects, I'd definitely start there.

This OBR mess ought to be a lesson for government procurement. Are they going to hire real web professionals now? It seems to be one extreme or the other. They either want to spend £2.50 and stick it on GoDaddy or they want to spend £2m with %massiveFirm. Either way, the many competent […]

Forced on to #wayland by the latest #fedora upgrade, and my #nvidia GPU is now running at half power. 🙄 With #xorg it used both GPUs, now it's only using one of two. I don't think I'll bother with the nvidia/#linux combo again... Nothing but pain.

Was listening to the Little Simz album 'Sometimes I Might Be Introvert' in the car with my daughter, I love that record. She's just ridiculously talented, as a musician and actor. #music

Had an interesting call with an AWS firewall engineer last week. It was interesting because of his naivety. Don't get me wrong, he had some good ideas and he was no idiot, but he entertained the idea that if AI bots aren't deriving value from what they're scraping, they'll stop and go elsewhere […]

Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

Beautiful afternoon, took the boy child to his tennis tournament in the Fiat 500. Poop poop! 🚙 He won both his matches too, so clearly I need to always take the tiny car. 😁
