I taught myself how to bake bread, can fruit and veggies, make jams and pickles. I dragged out the slow cooker and the hand mixer. I bought a pressure cooker and an instant pot cooker. I learned to cook gluten free for my oldest. I learned to use a lot of different spices and flavors.
