They will all blame Lachlan Murdoch.

Sorry, about the job news.
However, it has become an ambition of mine to read all the Dickens Christmas novellas.
I searched for film versions. I found this one.
It lands somewhere between sweet and weird.

There are hundreds of browsers.
In the old days, such information would have lead me
on a mission to find them all.
But not now...

Q : Have you ever been a hack writer?
I mean it in it's most positive meaning?
Someone who writes in many genres
using either a pseudonym or a house
name.
A former next door neighbour wrote
Mills and Boons.
Another former neighbour was a Daily Express
journalist who later founded Hemlock.

That is like me calling for the banning of Bill Forsyth films, because of having a bad dating experience with
'Comfort and Joy.'
The film is excellent, much better than other festive themed
films.

Enjoyed the last episode.
It was immediately followed by an ad for
an In-home animal euthanasia service.
That, pesky algorithm.

I have always thought Richard Adams to be a misogynist.
He wrote, 'Girl on a Swing', which supports this opinion.

Rationing ended in Britain on 4th July 1954.
Coincidently the official date of the star of
nostalgia in Britain.
Does he remember where he was when the bacon was freed?

At the time there were not just 'Celts', and Romans in Britain.
It was the Empires last stop. There were, Thracians, Nubians, Egyptians, Palestinians, Greeks to name but
a few.

The decahedrons found are metal, these would have
had value so would have been passed on.
If it was a commonly used device there may have been wooden versions. Wooden ones have been less likely to survive.

I think there is an example in a Ladybird book which
detailed things for children to make. There it was called
a knitting machine.
Cannot remember the exact process, but I remember
that the cord fell out of the bottom.
The different sized holes would be for cords of different
diameters.

When I was a small boy, at school we would make cord.
We would be given a large wooden bobbin and some
pins.
First we hammered the pins into the end of bobbin
around its hole.
Then using wool we would create a cord.
After we created the cord, it would be used to create
a circular mat.

This comes up every 5 years or so. Sigh... It is thought to resemble a Knitting Nancy.

I have never understood why anybody would want this prize.
The sponsors are very problematic, and have been for a long time.

Did you notice this yourself, or did somebody else look over your shoulder and say,'Alasdair are these sex criminals owned by the millionaire or employed by the millionaire'.
Blaming autocorrect is the modern equivalent of
'The dog ate my homework.'

With the right data AI can be used to pinpoint likely customers for any product.
Considerably reducing the need for extensive advertising and marketing departments.
Think: AI can currently sell to and buy from AI, without
human involvement.
November 12, 2025 at 5:06 PM
You have identified the one area of business where AI
would be perfect to use.
AI can make decisions without prejudice. Doesn't worry
if it's decisions will affect it's best buds, career or private
school fees.

I am currently re reading, The Owl Service.
Thinking, we were encouraged to read this
at junior school.
Curiously it is a subject, suitable for either of
your podcasts.
