Not a reader of biography, but Lauren Bacall's was great.

“But the amazing thing about life, I've finally discovered, is that you really don't learn from past mistakes. You do logically, reasonably, but emotionally not for a second.”

The reason I read it was to learn more about Bogey.

"Rogue Moon" was a 60s Hugo Nominee, and received some praise from contemporary writers.

Read it first late 80s early 90s and frankly liked it.
But re-reading it at a more mature age, I found the majority of the novel revolving around a dick measuring contest between the main protags.

Seems to have been fairly popular, but I'd still go with Kirsten Bakis's "Lives of the Monster Dogs".

Set in a then near future NYC, witnessing the arrival of a group of humanoid dogs, ill fated products of a scientist's experiments.
Moody, gothic, perfect for fans of "Frankenstein".

Earthlight, by Arthur C. Clarke is a genre favourite for me.

What makes it standout is that it is for Clarke's writing a fairly action packed novel, a to the point mix of amateur spy adventure and interplanetary conflict, and a tad more realistic as a lot of other 50s SF fare.

Easy.
Annie on my Mind, by Nancy Garden.

I love how she captured the sweetness of first love in that story. It's one of the books that I like to reread every couple years.
Also, this cover is just a favourite, so beautiful:

A few to choose from for the first part, but the second's difficult.

Going with this:
“...fine love poetry tends to be written when the object of one's affection is at a safe distance; also, it often reflects a love of words more than a love of women...”

This used to be my favourite book, got it several times from the library before buying my own copy:

First book I remember reading, fun fact:

The girl is named Susi, I'm a fan of "Susi und Strolch" (Lady and the Tramp), am a big fan of Suzanne Vega, and fell unconditionally and irrevocably in love with a Susanne.

I tend to joke that my memoirs will be called "An Abundance of Susis"

I was intially so/so on the series, love the books and the show just doesn't quite match it for me, but upon revisiting, it was a fun show and would have deserved a longer run:
