everyone in tech has worked with that one 10x coder whose superhuman efforts required at least ten people to clean up, but was deeply loved by management for setting unrealistic expectations
Saying you "coded for 36 hours straight" is something only people who have never programmed, and have no idea what programming is, would think is an impressive thing.

It is a claim that literally would not even fool a first year CS student. They'd laugh at you for saying it.

At every single set of lights in this country drivers sit staring at their phones, accelerating ahead without even looking up, and the Gards are still pushing the idea that pedestrians and cyclists can protect themselves at all from this dangerous driving.
Dangerous driving they refuse to punish.

Today, I saw a driver overtake a stopped bus and plough through a pedestrian crossing. He beeped three times as he sped though. The beeping was to warn people because, as he had overtaken a bus, he had zero visibility of who was about to step out onto the crossing.

But sure, more hi-vis, everyone
👀 Can you see me now?

The importance of visibility on our roads cannot be understated, particularly for vulnerable road users including pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter drivers and motorcyclists.

Right, it's ok to be angry though, it'd be weird to discuss the housing crisis and not be angry
Simon Harris and Pearse Doherty clashed in the Dáil this afternoon during a heated debate on rising rents.

Harris dubbed Doherty “angry Pearse” and remarked that Sinn Féin is the “only party receiving very significant financial funding from builders and construction companies”.

This is neither an overhaul or tighten. Asylum seekers make up a small proportion of inward migration. They’re also the worst off. Making their situation more painful to appease a few morons who believe refugees make their own lives worse, it’s brutal

I think we can safely say that the Leavitt's brother called ICE on his ex, the mother of his child, and I have to say: I have no desire to respect, find common ground or share the country with these monsters.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...

Bruna Ferreira, 33, was brought to the United States as a child in 1998. She is now in removal proceedings in Louisiana.

Missed this clip at the time... what will it take before social media is regulated?
This particular political deepfake account uses the same brand styling as RTE. Its last fake video here, not quite as slick but still passable, got 114k views, 268 comments and 309 shares on Facebook. It’s still live after four days.

What hardly anyone knows: they can poison the water that remains.

And in eastern Oregon, Amazon is doing exactly that.

This is outrageously propagandistic
When it comes to modern war, Ireland is a high-value target: its waters on the western fringe of Europe contain three-quarters of all undersea cables in the northern hemisphere. Despite this, is unprotected and unprepared.

An #FTEdit 🧵 on why this determinedly neutral nation is Europe's weak link 👇

Lads, the FT has spoken: we need to start firing missiles at random ships in Irish waters, or we're failing Europe.
Despite these high stakes, Ireland has no dedicated intelligence agency, just four working navy vessels and the smallest defence budget in the EU. In fact, the only thing the Irish navy can do when it spots a suspicious ship lurking is say “hello”.

There has been almost nothing on @news.rte.ie, the national broadcaster, about the US military build up in the Caribbean and threatened invasion of Venezuela. At the same time, we get well-paid columnists asking why Irish people are 'anti-American'?

We need all the independent media.

Why an earth would we want to rename the airport that already explains to everyone where it is, what it is, what it's for and what county it's in.
The Dáil has heard a suggestion that Dublin Airport be named after the former Taoiseach Sean Lemass.

Any counteroffers?

It feels worth mentioning that Graham Linehan’s harassment literally continued in the courtroom, as he repeatedly misgendered Sophia, and referred to her as “Tarquin”, a fictional deadname he made up for her as part of his harassment campaign. The judge was complicit in this harassment happening.
I wonder if I spent all day, every day, for years, calling Graham Linehan - or the judge - a nonce and then, when I saw him in the street screamed it in his face and smashed his phone, would a judge find I had done no harassing?

And that's not even factoring in the age of his victim

It is genuinely insane to see a judge describe Graham Linehan as a “generally credible witness” in a trial where he claimed Sophia Brooks has been engaged in “trans activism” since 2013 (when she would’ve been 6 years old), then, when challenged, claimed her drivers license lied about her age.
