I avoid those served-at-your-seat venues like the plague! And to tell the truth I have a better-than-average experience w audiences at movies (good movies, anyway)—so yea, to my mind (some) theaters are as much to blame these days for our poorer “cinema culture” as anybody else.

Aside from the insane amount of time, the part that truly infuriates me is when they show the “put your phone away & be quiet now, here comes the movie” bit, and then POW, up comes *another* 15 minutes of commercials, trailers, so on.
It’s like they’re *training* people to ignore the request.

I mean it’s gratifying that Will finds Trump as loathsome as every normal thinking person should—but buried deep in his piece, he’s essentially ascribing the flourish of Trump’s evils to America’s failure to be hardcore little-government-conservative enough.

When his entire party has control of the mechanisms that would hold him to account and/or remove him from office, and they fail to make use of them to do so -- that, more than the man himself, is the even greater danger.

Oh I'm sure he's just warming up. Next he'll probably "hereby proclaim" the entire Biden presidency as null and void because "rigged election" and that the country either owes him an additional four year term, or all history books must by law at least say he was elected three times.
