the attempts to get tv talk show hosts fired, and the constant calls for banning books.

Fascists will exploit the freedoms in a liberal democracy to install themselves then remove those freedoms.

Don’t tolerate intolerance. 3/3

Don’t forget the long list of banned words that were to not be present in any government documents, the aggression shown to those who simply restated normal policy for the military to defer to the constitution if given orders contrary to law, 2/3

I can actually organise my thoughts and emotions. Grow a little instead of feeling in a constant fight. I do think we seriously need to improve the level of public discourse, because it’s causing harm and degrading the wellbeing of far too many. ❤️

I am trying to balance my exposure to bigotry and still knowing what is happening in the world, but it’s a challenge. I feel better when I’m not constantly hammered by seeing hatred.

So what impact does discrimination and bigotry have, in practical terms? This. A woman driven into poverty and deprived of some of her agency.

Up until that point in the day, I’d had a good day. Chris saw his social support guy.

But I’m not dealing with a beer drinking shirtless guy that *also* lives at the same address whilst I’m angry.

So I’m posting this, a different picture from yesterday, in black and white. I’m rather pleased at myself for recovering my evening instead of allowing this guy to destroy my mood.

He just does it, no mention that he’ll do it.

It impacts me because I now can’t use the outdoor area, including to take my daily photo, because I don’t want to be anywhere near. I was close to blowing him up for the lack of consideration.

Wow. This is really highlighting the lack of redundancy (and likely funding).

Well it was - Peter Dutton.

This senator skipped parliament in sitting time in order to be at Trump’s ‘Gatsby’ party.

Then came back and disrupted parliament in the last sitting week with an anti-Muslim stunt. She was censured for 7 sitting days over it.

A very handy natural experiment!

I failed my car one first time, on some very small technical issues.

Thank you 🥰

I’m so happy for her. It was her 2nd attempt and she’d gotten a bit demoralised.

There’s an apostrophe that shouldn’t be … ‘stepdaughters’. I have three. Three children that are my own offspring too - two daughters and a son.

Very dynamic on all time scales.

Thanks Wayne 🥰 I originally did it as a confidence booster. I got comfortable enough with it to not feel cringey, so I can smile naturally. I’m also fundamentally optimistic. I’ll take a few and choose. Mostly based on lighting and that it is a smile, not rbf 😂

I’ve been fascinated with them since I was a kid. They’re one of those great reminders that humans only control so much.

Very informative! I knew about the eruption, but not any details about how stressed the tectonic plates are there. There was general talk for ages about the seas there, but it always felt like it wouldn’t be noticeable like this.
