Once stuff is racked and online, everything is managed remotely.
If a disk or whatever fails, the vendor shows up, gets let into the cage to replace and leaves. Someone remotely validates and/or works with them.
As things scale out, onsite work will be necessary, but there will not be 300 people.

No it won’t. No data center on the planet has that many employees. Not even fucking close.
For frame of reference, Switch Data Centers which has 16 million sf of space around the world that many businesses use for co-locations has 1000 employees.

Third Rock was hilarious.
You probably already knew this, but it made me happy that the guys on the show were “Tom, Dick and Harry”.
And of course most episodes had his name -
“Father Knows Dick"
“Gobble, Gobble, Dick, Dick"
“Eleven Angry Men and One Dick"
Etc..

I’d love to get my hands on a copy.
I grew up in Silicon Valley, born in the 60’s. At the turn of the century and the tech boom, the culture shifted with it - mostly for the worst. Companies used to be led by engineers that founded them, then came the CEO as celebrity. Went downhill from there.

I mean, he’s accurate. Though I’d argue the “sportsball” people are even more insufferable.

I was on a Southwest flight sometime in the last ten years (when I was traveling a lot for work) and it was an old ass 737 that had ashtrays in the arms.
In the early 90's I flew to Singapore on United and at that time international flights still allowed smoking in the back. Smelled awesome /s

One time I had to decom a bunch of shit at our co-lo & they would e-waste the rack-mount stuff, they wouldn't the cables. I bagged them up and put them in my car so I could recycle the next day. I accidentally left my car unlocked and someone stole them all. I was like "thank you!", LOL.

So this ISN'T about that box of cables I have, some of which dates back to the W administration?

Well played.
I saw a compilation video yesterday of people attempting to fry frozen turkeys. For anyone wondering - that's a terrible idea.

I swear to fucking god with these people.
This rhetoric was supercharged during the Reagan administration - I’m old so remember it like yesterday.
They have never let up.
