obviously they didn't have Sonic Adventure 1 planned out way back, but one can appreciate the consistency and respect to their own lore during Adventure's development which is in stark contrast to how many treated SA1 almost like a reboot back then.

2. The events of Sonic Adventure are alluded to in the Japanese manuals to Sonic 2 and 3; Sonic 2's manuals speaking of a legend of an ancient civilization that was wiped out by a god due to the Chaos Emeralds' misuse and 3's manual speaks of a mural depicting a dragon-like creature. (cont)

and there were certain game niches which are present which we don't see much of nowadays; tho the HD generation was the beginning of the end for AA games, they were still a thing and are still worth appreciating.

For the record... for better or for worse I do treat the PS3 and 360 as retro; tho the big leap for photo realistic graphics began there, a lot of trends that are common today weren't yet still a thing; online gaming but not the same extent as today, couch co-op was still relevant (cont)

is hellbent on pushing Big Language Mo- sorry, AI, like its the next big thing since the creation of the Smartphone, trying to work around the fact that people don't want it by making sure you can't avoid it.

Again to me this just screams... desperate.

Like looking aside the other criticism; the environmental impact, unethical sources; we have a 'product' that promises big things and investors take the bait simply cause they don't want to pay people, and in turn fails to deliver cause its not whats advertised and yet... every tech company (cont)

Of course we have def run into an issue different from the past... the differentiating factor between generations is starting to become less and less and design trends don't really shift that often; on the surface any PS5 game could easily be mistaken for a PS4 game.

The concept of Retro has always been subjective, while certainly no one was calling the NES retro while the SNES was still around, the Atari 2600 and its lineup were certainly up there classic's wise to the point of seeing rereleases as such. (cont)
