I hope you've been successful in doing so! I know its so hard to keep the habit up, life happens and before I know it the weekends have gone 😅

Mainly because its so easy to get caught up in work and daily life, and staying in the little bubble of York (although it is a lovely and gorgeous bubble, its still a city!)

Yesterday's (and today's) #PiBI2025 had some great talks looking at broadening the research on groups that have previously had less focus - be that culturally, sexual orientation, gender, neurotype, age etc.

Really important work going on! I learnt a lot, very enlightening to hear

The picture below is the poster session! Really fun and creative way to see them, and to network and chat in Gathertown - love it!❤️

A gorgeous venue, friendly people, a sense of hope and empowerment for the future of autism and neurodiversity research and real life impact

I will be thinking of #AEC2025 for a long time to come

It was an honour to hear from key academics in the field e.g. Damien Milton, Wenn Lawson, Liz Pellicano.

Highlights include the framing of 'energy accounting' by Maja Toudal, emphasising more links between brain and body with Jessica Eccles, and the sheer volume and voice of lived experiences

Highlighting truly the accessibility for some, is accessibility for all

The environment (as a non-autistic person with my own struggles) was extremely welcoming & affirming, things I wouldn't have the confidence to do elsewhere

Fidget loads when presenting my poster as I was ~anxious~; putting loops in during lunch as it was LOUD and crowded; colouring to switch off

Add in a Bayesian computational modelling workshop, super talks and posters, good company, and gorgeous scenery and it was a couple of days well spent!

Looking forward to what BRNet does next year!
