This is from weeks ago at this point but I never posted it and wanted to remember a time before I caught the worst/most persistent cold I’ve ever had as an adult.

Honestly with how long I’ve had this cough I’m not sure I’ll be there myself. But I’m sure we will cross paths soon.

Also to its credit I think there are some fun surprises in the game that are tied to story but I wouldn’t say a few fun surprises mean it has a good story like let’s reel it in. Idk just some thoughts. This is just my page.

And it’s not like a simple game or story can’t be a great one. The children’s book Love You Forever is super simple and short and is way better than the story in Bananza (which to be clear is FINE like that’s not a story game at all so who cares about it being good tho why do ppl think it is 🤔)

A small example (sorry to use this one) is DK bananza. People have said they love the story and how Pauline gains confidence but there is very little done to make that arc feel “real” or “moving.” She sings instantly. Even her first “performance” is like super early in the game.

I love Clair and it’s my GOTY but I beat it not long after release and also felt act 3 was overhyped. People act like that’s what makes the story good butI think the best part of the story is far earlier BUT I will also say (no spoilers) but I LOVED the way the game ends.

To emphasize this: I’m a big new year new me person and I feel that with games as well. Even though I spend a lot of January playing December games but in my mind those are 2026 games so it can still fit my mental agenda. 🤓

Views PLUMMET if you do January. Just is how it is. On a technical level tho you alway risk missing games even in that system bc what if a game is like 12/27. so Id like Dec - November bc you get EVERYTHING released and still have a week or two before recording to tie some loose ends
