Yeah I dunno if this is a hot take or not but no one would be talking about Dark Souls today if it had traditional difficulty settings and it wouldn’t have invented a whole new subgenre. Ofc there’s a ton of great level design and world building too but the difficulty was the keystone to its legacy

Totally agree. As much fun as it is to win fights by brute force and pure instinct, I found myself really understanding bosses in Silksong more than I have in other games. Reading tells and reacting accordingly is absolutely necessary when they hit as hard and as fast as they do in this game

Every boss starts off as “whoa whoa whoa whoa hold up” but then by the end it’s like I become Neo seeing the Matrix

It’s just the gaming podcasts I listen to and online discussion have all been moderately positive on it, but I think Silksong is so much more than that. It’s easily the best game I’ve played this year and a personal all timer. Difficulty I can’t say much on but it’s been the perfect level for me

I’m gonna need you to bring the heat for Silksong on the next MinnMax show. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills with the reception I’ve seen on this game and it’s making me go insane.
