Context is important. Instructor is a trans woman. Student is daughter of a lawyer who defended J6 rioters and is active in GOP politics. (That's how she could get governor and GOP pols involved w/in 4 hours.) Lawyer mom now on X calling for a ban on all trans profs.

Look, y'all know I hate AI as much as the next passionate hater of AI, but ChatGPT has nothing on the University of Oklahoma deciding that based on the first amendment students can literally say anything in their papers as existential threat to the university.

I've never encountered more students who say they hate reading. Students who want to be teachers, writers, or both. I wonder if "hate" means "I have trouble reading," but I also talk with so many students who write in a genre but refuse to read in it. They can't see themselves in relation to others.
