Australia is paying $750m to a US prison company and $2.5bn in a secret deal to Nauru, yet the hundred or so asylum seekers in Nauru are starving.
It’s called corruption, and someone in authority should look into it.
‘Day by day I lose weight’: asylum seekers on Nauru get $115 a week, but a bag of grapes costs $20

It just feels very meaningful and era-defining that the new CEO of Australia's core clean energy lobby group was on the radio actively calling for more coal exports and it just sort of floated past like it never happened

Remarkable to see this finally being uttered out loud but I'm wondering why it took half a decade (including three years under the Labor gov't) for it to be even acknowledged as a problem.

The Free Market sucks at causing a rapid energy transition. Gov't policy can potentially not suck.

Check this out: the Liberals have been caught out lying about your power bills and the renewables rollout.

According to this ABC fact check, coal fired power generation is becoming more unreliable and replacing that energy with new coal-fired power stations is more expensive than renewables.

Very disappointing the Albanese Govt has refused to accept the full suite of recommendations from the Briggs Review designed to stop the jobs for mates culture in federal politics.

No surprise there is such low trust in politicians!

Now it's clear why the Albanese Govt was hiding it for two years.

They are refusing to implement recommendations designed to ensure we have merit-based appointments 🤯
