I feel like being comfortable in ourselves is always a challenge, but I'd encourage you to be kind to the part of yourself that tries to caretake for others' experience of the world by overthinking it. Trying to leave room for others is admirable, you just shouldn't do it at the expense of you!

The contemporary moment has a lot more trying to capture and exploit the alien than it does benevolent billionaire heroes, so that kinda makes sense regardless of age

I had this same problem - my dad lied about his height his whole life saying he was 5'9", so when I was exactly his height I assumed I was 5'9", too, until I went to the doctor as an adult for the first time 😂

Context: I was referred to as a pocket gay tonight (endearment) and kinda objected on principle. At 5'7" I've never been tall, but I feel like being short has never been held against me, so what I view as a reclamation term doesn't seem appropriate.
