👋 I’m a Product-minded Software Engineer from 🇿🇦, currently based in Europe. I spend most days wrestling with modernising the UI of a large monolithic app and gently trying to force a design system into a legacy codebase. Which is, surprisingly, much more enjoyable and rewarding than it sounds.

During the pandemic, I started asking people to pick / recommend one book from the shelf behind them — if present. Usually at the end of the call or during the awkward waiting for others to join part. Apart from boosting my reading list, it (without fail) resulted in meaningful conversation.
Petition to make "Hi, what are you reading?" the conventional greeting.
"How are you doing?" hasn't been appropriate for some time now. Deprecated.
