it could be that adults hold way more power in the dark world, which would make sense for why Toriel needed to be asleep plot wise so we don't know that yet.

dess is also left handed like the knight and kris's pencil turns into a sword so it's not impossible the bat turns into some kind of blade too

I was 50/50 on either of them but this design comparison is really compelling. There's probably a lot of stuff we don't know about Carol but if she's the knight I'm wondering why she would be able to shape shift and stuff if she's so normal in the light world.

the ribbit mod for deltarune did something like that, but for their nb frog protagonist not Kris. Noyno (Ralsei) instantly corrects a random npc after misgendering them, and the npc was like "oh okay."
