It occurred to me that people may not know how much I dislike Quentin Tarantino. It's simple! He disrespected Bruce Lee and so he is DEAD TO ME. Any joy I might have experienced from the 2 films I've seen (1 of which was Grindhouse w/ Robert Rodriguez), has been extinguished.

Fuck that guy.

also, THIS
If I were Quentin Tarantino, whose least bad acting role was an embarrassing turn in an Alias two-parter, I would never, ever talk shit about an actor.

Studios lament the loss of "company men" without looking at the differences in the ways Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were treated.

You get "company men" by being good to the men who work for the company.
From Jack Kirby to Steve Gerber to Alan Moore to pretty everybody else who ever worked for DC or Marvel, "Work for Hire" is one of the biggest con jobs ever pulled.

THIS. Warner Brothers and Disney treating comics like IP generating machines has been horrifying to watch from the outside; I can only imagine the horror show from inside the house.
I think the reason why there is such a focus on the evils of "work for hire" in comics (instead of voice acting, etc.) is that you can no longer put food on the table with comics. These characters are bringing in millions while their creators cannot pay for groceries or rent.

Or funeral expenses.

I just heard Golden on the radio for the first time. I'm in the airport shuttle and I thought it was the girl next to me listening on earbuds.

my family: You need stop posting on social media. What if someone wants to hire you and sees what you post?

me: Clearly you have misunderstood how this whole situation works.

also me: 89% of the time someone hires me precisely because of what I post on social media.

I enjoy the part where it's not even a hockey AU, it's literally a hockey romance. If they get trapped together in a Canadian shack with only one bed, I might actually die of joy. And if they are fake dating while they do it? that high-pitched screaming you hear is me making gleeful dolphin noises.

My sibling's cat head bonks like a Glaswegian. I mean I don't have a broken nose yet, but there's still almost two weeks to go.

TIL the kid from #TheShannaraChronicles is apparently super famous. I also learned my idea of 'comedy' is not the same as Darren Aronofsky's.

Finally got the 🤦🏻‍♀️moment when I saw the flashback to the massacre at Hawkins labs. Sometimes I'm not so smart. But the old school Crayola's in the boy scout box played into it for me, too. I love the production design bigly. #StrangerThings5
OK, I am digging the Crayola rainbow colour palette of Holly/her room/Derek/the Creel house in #StrangerThings5. It's a really fun way to show the viewer they can't trust what their eyes tell them.

OK, rewatched #KpopDemonHunters yet again, and she actually appears to use Jinu's soul to start weaving the new Honmoon with Zoey and Mira, the same way the first Hunters did in the prologue as we see the threads from the fans joining and swirling around them during "This Is What It Sounds Like".
Somehow despite watching #KpopDemonHunters at least a dozen times since it dropped, I never really processed the fact that Rumi CONSUMED Jinu's soul and that was what gave her the power to fight Gwi-Ma and get a shiny new upgraded weapon and holographic patterns.

headcanon accepted.
I have long posited that Daniel Craig's accent in Glass Onion is better than Knives Out because in Knives Out he is trying to do a real Southern accent and is bad at it but in Glass Onion he is just talking like Foghorn Leghorn, which is something a real gay Southern weirdo would do.

three people buying a book we didn't really have on our radar at my old bookstore was instant "order more, face it out, somebody on staff read it and write a talker for it" territory
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I know that's not actually what 'Hoobae' means in context, but I do love Rumi referring to the Saja Boys as noobs on the game show. #KpopDemonHunters
