This is chilling stuff. Protester told by the police that holding up a banner opposing genocide in Gaza and supporting Palestine creates a "suspicion" that they may support a proscribed group and so could be arrested for terrorism offences
Police in Canterbury today informed a protestor that the phrase "Israel is committing genocide in Gaza" could be considered a declaration of support for Palestine Action and therefore a terrorism offence.

I’m still digesting the detail.

But let one thing remain clear:

The removal of jury trial from thousands of accused people is being proposed not from principle. Nor necessity.

But because successive governments - of all parties - chose to take a chainsaw to the justice system.
