I hacked my garage opener remote with ESPHome to avoid this crap. Excellent automation, would recommend. Especially if you can stay away from MyQ
Do not buy Chamberlain products for your smart home. This is really simple. That company is toxic towards its users and I’m a bit surprised people went back to them.

But a Ratgdo. It almost certainly works w/ your garage, is fully local, & works brilliantly with HomeKit, ESPHome, and Home Assistant

Bought a robot vacuum, waiting so patiently for home assistant integration. Roborock Q7 M5+

Roborock: Q10, Q7, and other new vacuums not supported · Issue #144138 · home-assistant/core
The problem I recently got a 2nd vacuum and added it to the roborock app without issue. However for some reason it is not importing into the roborock integration even after reloading and rebooting....

Well told. All perspectives covered. Ken Burns does it again. A must watch for Americans.

Meant to @popfeed.social this but it’s excellent
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“The American Revolution,” Ken Burns’s new docuseries, “is intelligently self-critical history of a kind most people worldwide are deprived of,” John McWhorter writes. “Showing us what the era entailed for all different kinds of early Americans isn’t woke; it’s accurate.”

Don’t be shocked: There were Black people and Native Americans during the colonial era.

If you use the internet, this is a good read.
As a security person, I SO appreciate great bits like this open letter around bad security advice ( www.hacklore.org/letter), especially given that it's got reputable people like @leak.bsky.social signed on.

I agree that outdated advice and half-truths are just as bad as giving wrong advice.

its also, crucially, made all of us worse. some of us by a lot, others by just a little. but a piece of all of us has rotted away by necessity of having to accept this in order to go on with our lives, or by refusing to accept it and bearing the strain of that
