Thanks. I'm grateful I can still feed them. The food banks give me canned Tuna, Salmon, Mackerel etc,,, and one even gives me a few cans of cat food every month. They think I'm spoiling them when they get it. *Shhhhhhh...*

Oh I Understand. Sometimes the hurdles aren't worth the help. Internet is baked into my rent, so I use the perks I can find to maximize every penny. NC is kinda like that. Hopefully, the scales have been removed from the eyes of the locals, and they vote all of the GOP out next year.

I've dealt with carpal tunnel for 3 decades, and a leg full of metal from a wreck for 2 decades. The only way to survive after they got too bad was disability. I got my hands back, but I still have a bad back and a bum right leg. Getting SNAP isn't an option I can forego. I need every penny.

I usually get 2 cases of US Military MRE's every month, because when I buy them like that, I get 24 meals for about $3.50 each. They went up in price this month, so I couldn't even afford them.
I had gotten used to eating them, and actually liked many of the options, and figured out how to stretch them out using noodles or canned beans.
Fuck every Republican Politician with a pulse.

A big part of why I'm on disability. 2 decades of walking around with more metal than Wolverine in my right leg has caused the bone to start dying in the leg, and has twisted my spine because my right leg has about 25% the strength of the left, because they filleted my right thigh open to put the bone back together. The result was several muscles being no longer attached correctly for use in standing or walking. It took over 6 months to be able to stand without being waist deep in a swimming pool, and a year to limp around after I was forced to go back to work. My every republican politician slow roast in hell. Fuck them.

I saw the Halal shelf at one of the food banks you visited, @katmabu.bsky.social. I did food service for 30 yrs befor going on disability. Halal meat is some of the best I've ever eaten. Halal beef 'bacon' is a guilty pleasure I highly recommend to non-vegans. bsky.app/profile/fran...

Halal Beef 'bacon' is made from beef brisket, cured and sliced thin. If you ever try it, you'll never go back to Pork or Turkey. As Tenacious D would say, "It's The Shiznit." Yeah, it costs more, but it's made with a more expensive cut of meat than most, raised humanely, and processed as humanely as possible.

I wind up sharing the canned meats I get at the food bank(s) I have to go to, even when there isn't a shutdown or cutoff of SNAP. To get the MEDICAL HELP I needed, I went on disability, & only get $1340 a Month, and $23 in SNAP when times are 'good.'

Stripe and AJ, my childrens. AJ has been my little girl since she was a kitten wandering around in my yard, the child of a feral mommy. AJ stands for "Asshole Junior" after the other cat I had who became her stepmom, "Pookie."
Stripe was my late sister's cat, I adopted when she passed away. SHe wasn't very creative with Cat names.
They're my little girls, and I love them very much. I would go without, to make sure they're fed and safe.

I live on $1340 a month in disability. I usually receive my measly fucking $28 on the 5th of the month. After 2 days of "fuck off", they finally gave me $16, or 70% of my usual disbursement. I wish every GOP lawmaker Herpes sores on their Hemorrhoids. May they all burn in hell together. Fuck them.

To keep the three of us fed, I've been reduced to begging strangers online for money. Every Penny Helps, bless you.
