Agree, you can’t imagine Mateta getting the wages he wants in Spain, Italy, Germany or France as unlikely Barca/Madrid/Atletico/Bayern/PSG would go for him.
Unlikely a US move would materialise, so that leaves other Premier League sides (most top sides have just bought strikers as well), or Saudi.

In fairness to Eze he was interviewed by Idris Elba recently, and after having his achievements for this calendar year listed to him and being asked what his hopes for the next year are, he said “more of the same” so at least he clearly recognises what he’s achieved with Palace.

Importantly as you’ve said, Palace can be seen as a place to develop and grow for top young talents.

It doesn’t super feel like saying “I bet that first sentence sounds very clever to you” as an attempt to claim authority is very compelling either.

As a Haakand captained I hope he does well. We’ve reached a point where there’s no value not captaining Haaland as either he hauls or other captaincy options blank whenever he does.
Would be good to have some more viable options.

Do you think there’s any chance we see Kamada move into the front 3 for some of those games while Sarr is away, with Lerma/Hughes coming in rather than Nketiah?
