Hello Bluesky! I'm Fossil!

For the past couple of years, I've been designing creatures for a personal project of mine called Psychies: Bottled Emotions!

In this thread I will introduce the world of the Psychies and how they work!

Our big Aethermancer Monster Design Contest has ended and we were so overwhelmed by the amount of creative and great monster ideas - we increased the number of winners from 3 to 7!

Hubrick - Psychie of Ambition

Hubrick, Psychie of Ambition. Hubrick is a tower of turtles in the shape of a castle rampart with brick-like designs on their shells. The bottom turtle has a set of bars over its face, while the top holds a flag waving high in the air. They work together to build the tallest stack that anyone has ever seen but each one aspires to be at the top spot some day. When a Hubrick tower gets too tall, it becomes much easier to topple.

Flashback to 2022 when drew this. I had a horrible cold but spent my time playing Pokemon Legends Arceus and Monster Sanctuary.

It's now 2025 and I have a horrible cold, ready to play Pokemon Legends ZA tomorrow and been binging Aethermancer. It all comes full circle!

Gnashroom, Psychie of Terror. Gnashroom is a white mushroom with a skull shaped cap, dotted with large red spots that look like eyes, along with a toothy mouth. Below is a shy looking face covering itself up with small hands. The stalk of the fungus walks around on spider-like roots. Gnashroom is a very skittish Psychie that uses its decorative cap to scare anything that would harm it. This proves so effective that even Gnashroom is terrified of its own reflection.

Just finished playing Gris! Gorgeous game, wonderful art direction, sound design, music, everything! Short but very sweet.

The ending managed to get a tear out of me too, would recommend.

Shteinie - Psychie of Temptation Shteinie is a spirit-like creature made of a bubbling golden brew coming out of a beer stein. It has a large white beard made of bubbles and arms crossed over its chest. This Psychie is very good at convincing people to do what it wants or, in fact, convincing them to do what they always wanted to deep down. After all, everyone deserves some time to indulge themselves.

The user's digimon OC Odinmon. It's a massive white furred quadruped, with its limbs sprawled outwards and a massive braided mane held with gold rings at the front, bronze armour across its body and four feathered wings on its back. Its head is a bronze helmet with a empty eye sockets, a grille for a mouth, a single purple eye in the forehead emanating purple lightning, two fangs protruding under the helmet and two curved horns with ‘Muninn’+‘wisdom' (left) and ‘Huginn’+‘magic’ (right) written in runes. On its shoulders are bronze shoulderpads with golden valknut symbols, and its lower limbs have bronze shinguards with three gold toes at the front and one at the back, wrapped in dark brown leather. It has a large white mane that flows into its braided beard, and a purple symbol floating behind it with runes. Two crows with golden accents and gold-rimmed single eyes for heads fly behind it, one with a red eye and the other with a blue one.
