Everything you research relies on a crewmember that can do that kind of research! And the more you use them, the slower and more tired they get.

But they also form a bond with you.

The time cost isn't tight, exactly. It's a budget. You want to spend it properly, not preserve as much as possible.

So I'm running a fever and have taken quite a lot of Dayquil, but I think this sounds fun, because it means you can spend your time researching before you descend.

Everything you do has a time cost, whether it's research or movement or space travel, and that's the main cost of the game. Time.

Various tiles on the map are marked in advance with different icons.

If you do the matching kind of research - for example, sensor scanning, interviewing survivors, researching historical records, etc - you get to see what's in that tile AND get a clue as to the nearest major signal.

Thank you for your attention.

I think I have quite the wrong image of you in my head.

Hell, even trying to find the address of "Zorm Ascended (Left Leg, Denube Beta C)" can be a challenge, although I haven't worked out how to make it fun.

Of course the planets are now wastelands or exotic jungles or covered in pirates or something, so deliveries are a bit Spicy.

My vague idea right now is that most planets have "ghosts" on them - beings that have ascended from the mortal plane but didn't really leave so much as just go digital, and they still have random-ass physical presences so they can occasionally request deliveries from Space UPS.

I'm doodling sci fi worlds because having a brain frying lets me think of some cool ideas. Unfortunately, it does not let me DRAW those cool ideas.

What's the smallest possible "space RPG" game.
November 15, 2025 at 4:02 PM
I guess I could try to make a space RPG, that is my standard go-to favorite game type... of course, it's a hugely annoying kind of game to make and it'll suck until the last bit where it suddenly doesn't.

You do you, feeder pornographers, and I'm sorry that I won't see any replies you make since you're all muted in the name of science-

I'm just wondering why Discover thinks that's what I want to see. Why not, I dunno, SFM porn? I actually follow several of those folks and regularly fave that stuff.

There are a few tweaks I wanted to make to this and my other images this week, but my brain short circuited.

I don't think I'll make them, unless folks can guess what the plan was.

... I still haven't figured out how to make Nintendo princess "hair wings" feel natural, though. How did these become normal? Do people in Japan actually style their hair that way? Did anyone, ever?
