Bc the game can't ever end and you can't raise expectations forever. Being an never ending live service game made the special moments unsustainable and unrepeatable. But it also was the reason those moments were so cool in the first place.

Destiny 2 was awesome and magical. It had the coolest fucking dunks ever, but it missed so many wide open layups. Those moments may have been unsustainable and I think it's unrealistic to hope for moments like Forsaken, Dreaming City, and crazy secrets that raise the bar each time...

And if I remember correctly, it was only in the aftermath of Telesto that Bungie basically said we're never doing another secret like whisper ever again, and stop expecting it to happen bc it was too expensive to encrypt the secrets or some shit.

Looking back I respect it too. But man I feel like the community was in a frenzy about whisper-type secrets for a while before this, and I remember thinking "FINALLY" when Telesto happened. It had all the trappings of a secret mission but was a disappointment after Telesto only just escaped the game

Telesto was after the Corridors of Time which absolutely fucked and is an all time gaming community moment that will never ever happen again. Telesto "event" happened in the same game as Outbreak and fucking Whisper. And then they DELETED ALL OF THESE FROM THE GAME LMFAO
