How does the IPC measure acute malnutrition in children to identify famine?

As Director Caitlin Welsh explains, the IPC relies on two methods:
1️⃣ Weight-for-height z-scores (WHZ)
2️⃣ Mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC)

Gaza’s famine confirmation relied primarily on MUAC data.
