Anyway. the last thing I was blown away about is the post-credits scene. It's small, but its HUGE. Oh my gosh I am so hyped. It's one reason I want this to do well. I want D to make Z3. I want it to be as good as this one, I don't care that I have to wait. It was worth it.

Characters maybe thought of as "gimmicky" from Z1 have their roles expanded on thoughtfully, that it actually makes the previous movie feel better. Keep in mind its a kid's movie, so it's not ultra-deep, and rather fast-paced, but it WORKS somehow. The writing was -tight-. Well-but-not-over-refined.

The characters, both big and small, from Z1, had reasonable appearances that fit their screen time, location, dialogue...just really well-placed. Not forced(usually), and not overstaying themselves. Several characters' personalities are vastly improved upon and fleshed out.

The worldbuilding. This was most surprising to me. I did not expect them to go so hard into worldbuilding, and I LOVED it. The plot centers on a physical object so physically large and obvious, yet you didn't really think about much from the first movie. Speaking of the first movie...

Another things I worried was this Nick/Jusy/Snake trio. The marketing made it seem like the snake character(Gary) would ruin their buddy-cop/relationship. He did not. It was very well handled. I liked that while Nick/Judy had rough spots, it was mature, sensible, and not a repeat of the first movie.

One of the biggest worries was that it wouldn't be funny. The preview "hey bub" thing trailer was like 2/10 funny so I had worries. My worries were entirely wrong, thankfully. The jokes were -plenty- and i appreciated the -variety- of jokes. Puns, visual gags, easter eggs/refs, slapstick.

Shot in the dark here from another artist, but...

All my life I've tried to fix problems ASAP and I'd worry-worry-worry. Only recently have I realized that it's been healthy and normal to just...allow yourself to be sad and -process- it for a while. If it gets -too- bad, seek help, but...yeah.
