What's your favourite part of the writing process?

I just had to get this out of my system again. Thinking about Sonic isn't fun at the moment, and hopefully I won't rant about him again for a while.

Air Riders is pretty damn fantastic though, I'll just go play that.

Meanwhile with Air Riders, I knew it wasn't gonna win everyone over (much like the original Air Ride), but I've managed to block out any potential discourse and just love it for the incredible game that it is. And fortunately, I'm seemingly not in the minority for thinking that!

-"pretty good but not particularly replayable") got showered in praise and acclaim, when they felt so far removed from the things *I* liked about Sonic. Especially in the case of CrossWorlds, where they so adamantly ignore Classic aside from a single track.

It just feels alienating, y'know?

-the constant backlash and vitriol from certain corners of the fandom hit really hard, especially because it felt like my "we're so back" moment after Frontiers set an unsettling precedent.

And that rings even more true after Shadow Gens and CrossWorlds (games that I felt were either "alright" or-

While playing Air Riders, I've been thinking about how similar their circumstances are (both games felt like impossible dreams made a reality), but how the direction I took with the discourse couldn't have been more different.

I was in the thick of Sonic Twitter when Superstars released, so seeing-

"Game is directionless">inc. map/guide as standard
"I don't know where this weird English title comes from">printed on the disc
"Some people claim its set in the same world as...">mentioned on the back of the box
"Just expects you to guess weaon stats">inc. separate data book as standard
