Meet our cornea service chief, Dr. Scott MacRae. Dr. MacRae has performed over 20,000 surgeries and has been a cornea specialist for more than 30 years. He has been an innovator in laser vision correction, helping to develop surgical techniques and technologies that are used around the world.

On her birthday, we remember the late Dr. Mina Chung. Dr. Chung brought a bright light to everyone she knew. She was a great clinician, mentor, and friend to so many. To honor her legacy, we created the Mina M. Chung Professorship.

Our next service chief is our neurology chief, Dr. Zoë Williams. Dr. Williams is conducting new research into optic nerve imaging modalities. She completed her residency at the University of Rochester, before then completing a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University.

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month. Diabetes can affect more than just your blood sugar. It can also damage blood vessels in your eyes, which can cause diabetic retinopathy and other diseases. Blood sugar control and an annual eye exam are the best prevention methods.

This weekend the Toast to Your Health wine auction returns. The auction helps support causes in the local community. Last year's event helped raise over two million dollars that is being used to help our outreach programs and our never-ending mission to help find cures for rare diseases.

Our MobilEyes team is finishing up their community events for the season soon. This Saturday they will be at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Rochester for a vision screening event. We are so thankful for all the great work they do in the community.
