Note that I saw no kids at this event. Did families get to come and get turned away for the unannounced bag policy?

Or like me, did all the parents work to make alternative arrangements for our kids because we knew this would be the opposite of family friendly?
Despite the "family-friendly" designation of this event, it's taking place over dinner/bedtime for elementary and younger kids, and doesn't provide childcare.

So what exactly makes it family friendly?
The DFL Listening Tour is the hottest event in town, and is moved to a larger venue to meet the demand.

Happy to welcome the @dfl.org to SD62 at Sabathani, on Nov. 13 at 6:30 PM. Show up to share the issues important to you with the state party.

This was not a “listening session.”

Less than half the people who got in line to speak were able to do so.

And those that did speak got evasive answers, not active listening.
We asked Richard to show up and listen and what we got was a corporate presentation about branding followed by evasive answers that absolutely did not meet the moment.

When I met Richard for the first time two months ago, I told him this party was a ticking bomb and it's already starting to blow.

Trans and non-binary DFL’ers are all too often there for the party in its greatest time of need. DFL leadership is all too often nowhere to found in ours.

Join us in supporting A Better DFL to help create a party that works for all us ❤️

Due to the unannounced bag policy, if I had brought my kid, I would have been turned away.

Parents attending a meeting with kids often need to travel with stuff!

I watched at least 3 people have to leave because their bags were considered “too large”
the instructions for the DFL listening session did not say backpacks were not allowed so people are being turned away with them. i got in because i have press pass

this security team hired for this event is the same one hired for omar fateh’s election night party

Called and left messages for @klobuchar.senate.gov and @smith.senate.gov asking them to hold firm on the ACA
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Hi Minnesotan Bluesky:

The DFL has a well-known transphobia problem. I'm organizing to change the party platform in 2026 to be explicitly supportive of trans people in Minnesota. This will provide a basis for expelling transphobia from our party.

Getting new details on this now:

As the arrest unfolded, teachers pleaded with the agents telling them the teacher had a work permit. The agents went into multiple rooms looking for teachers while children were present. One teacher hid with a child in her care while the agents stormed the facility.

Reminder to be kind to the hardworking Minneapolis Elections staff this morning.

They worked all day yesterday and late into the night supporting precincts and election judges, and will be back at it first thing this morning to bring us RCV results.

$100 buys emergency groceries to feed a family of four for a month through the food shelf — they’re about halfway to their $16K match goal, so if you donate $50 now, you’re helping a whole family survive
I’m raising money for Groveland Emergency Food Shelf, a South Minneapolis nonprofit that provides emergency groceries for those in need. They’re currently struggling to keep up with demand, and they’re getting their first $16k in donations matched.

I’ve got $50 on it! Can anyone match me?

I’m asking everyone to vote for a new Mayor by Tuesday and rank all 3 of Omar Fateh, Dewayne Davis, and Jazz Hampton in whichever order you prefer. I’ve worked at City Hall for the last 4 years and from my personal experiences I believe the City desperately needs a new mayor.

I took no photos at Bare Bones last night because I was too entranced by the art, the experience of being in the enormous audience, and the emotional response to the performance

Kudos to everyone involved- truly a balm for the soul in these times.

The Bare Bones performance at Powderhorn Park tonight was absolutely phenomenal. I didn’t know I was still capable of being absolutely floored by art in this way—it was emotionally, visually, sonically perfect and profound.

I was bawling during the honoring of the lives lost.
