Amature mineral collector for 70 years. I specialize in micro minerals and photography of them. Wife and I are also involved with llamas and we each own one. We show them at local county fairs and several ILR sanctioned shows around Washington and Oregon
Mike Wise, from the Smithsonian, missed his second Northwest Chapter Friends of Mineralogy presentation due to this shutdown and the previous trump shutdown. The Canadians were missing. They were also missing from the New Mexico Mineral Symposium in November.

When it started to try and make changes to my Power Point and Access files, I quickly found out how to turn it off. Copilot should never have been turned on by default.

Sandhill cranes in a flooded field just after sunset. Taken at Bosque del Apache, San Antonio, New Mexico. We had been at the New Mexico Mineral Symposium which had wrapped up earlier. We always stop by here prior to head in home to Port Orchard, Washington. Three days earlier there were no cranes.

Got home from a 3600 mile trip to New Mexico to find out our youngest granddaughter has been selected for her dance studio competitive ballet dance team. She is a freshman in high-school.

During the covid school shutdown, our granddaughter, Ashley, had her llama join a Zoom class session.

You obviously not learned how the MAGA thugs work. They will block you t every turn unless benefits their billionaire puppet masters. Your only hope for progress is for Dems to win control of house and 60+ majority in senate. You may not be there after mid term based on your post.

Trump's economy is the stock market, not main street.

Wish it had been last night when we were in Cortez, Colorado. We are in Orem, Utah tonight. Lots of haze and light pollution.
November 12, 2025 at 4:12 AM
The GOP has one goal, to take as much money from the 90% by any means possible and transfer it to their billionaire puppet masters and do by illegal means if needed.

Those Democratic senators that abandoned our party destroyed everything gained in the recent election. This may well destroy the Democratic party. We can nolonger trust anything they saw or promise. They are no more trustworthy than the MAGA thugs.
November 11, 2025 at 12:28 AM
I wouldn't bet on that vote ever happening.
November 10, 2025 at 2:48 PM
The Democratic party may cease to exist after this. As there is no effective alternative, many may nolonger vote or switch to the vote GOP.
November 10, 2025 at 2:44 PM
They don't want to offend their billionaire donors.
November 10, 2025 at 2:41 PM
Trump cannot issue pardons for those convicted in state courts. These are meaningless pardons.
November 10, 2025 at 2:38 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if this spells the end of the Democratic party.
