i think dumbing down Frankenstein into a "dude was kinda shitty to his son" story is an insult to mary Shelley's work. Maybe if it was marketed as "inspired" by Frankenstein not an "adaptation" I wouldn't have disliked it lol

Yahhhhh knowing the context of gdt wanting to tell his own story about his own father explains all the changes, but also Shelley's story wasnt about frankenstein being a shitty dad lol it honestly felt disrespectful to me
