Aaaand artsprint for the day done on that commissioned PNGtuber from earlier. Still a ways to go but they're starting to come together nicely.

The kingmaker group so far! (Maybe more character portraits coming, need to add that kobold's hand back oops) #ocsky #pathfinder #pf2e #kingmaker #pngtuber #vtuber #art #clipstudio

Commissioned to make PNGTuber-plus ready portraits for my paid Kingmaker game and I'm really liking how this one's turning out. Art style inspired by Hades and Darkest Dungeon. #pathfinder2e #pf2e #kingmaker #ocsky #art #portrait #clipstudiopaint #pngtuber #vtuber

Finished converting all of my game event scripts into JSON. So much nicer to work with! (Also took a pass at making events a little clearer. Need to make a better dice icon though to represent 'number of successes required')

Well, that was uncomfortable and took a lot longer than I expected. BUT! Now I can fully import and export from my nodegraph to JSON. This'll be such an enormous time saver for this project.

Yep! What would've been 15 files before is now a singular file and I can actually see where stuff is going without having to flip back and forth between events and manually loading files.
January 7, 2025 at 9:27 PM
NodeGraphs are pretty easy to set up in Godot. This same tree would take up four files in my project; now they can all live in one.
Going to take some elbow-grease to integrate but it's so much more fun to work with than trying to do this in the Inspector.

Burnt some midnight oil to make sure that investigators die when they are killed. Next step: burning the world if no investigators remain to save it.

When it's 2025, you sit down to dev, and your UI suddenly hits you in a very different way.

I have no idea how anyone's going to stream this game but at least the effects look nice on my end haha

Also getting *dangerously* close to having full gameloops and really-playable-content in here.

Sometimes it's the little things that give joy in game development. I'm just sitting here tweaking the particular sound, length, and transition type for hiding/showing the news panel.

Many openings and closings have been had. I've tried 8 combinations so far!

If you thought the eldritch and the abyssal were the only sort of nightmares you'd face in To Ash and Ember, beware: Feudal healthcare is arriving soon in a 'The City' near you.

Sneak preview of one of v0.411 [Silverwing]'s new spells!
Also, there's still at this time 16 donationware copies left on itch.io for To Ash and Ember. Feeling generous or curious? Get you one!

Thank you all so much! I didn't expect to get this many this fast! Have some sketch-art of the reclusive librarian demonstrating the late policy for book checkouts from the Archives!

To celebrate the fact I can now have dungeon layouts of arbitrary shape and form: the last level of the sewers in the next version of To Ash and Ember will be a genuine maze.

GlobalBus is paying off dividends. Fast 30-minute feature add: any source that deals damage to the player now shows it through sound and visuals.

One of the things I've felt has been missing throughout To Ash and Ember is a display which shows your dice rolls. That's now something I'm proud to include (as well as an option to skip the display of them).

Ah, it's good to see the Dungeon back up on its feet. Still some rough edges to smooth out but it's largely working once more. Want to add another 'detail layer' to add a little flavor to rooms in the future (tables, bodies, chairs, etc).

Not working flawlessly, but regions are now in. I have successfully imposed euclidean concepts and geometry upon the abyss of Dungeons. (Apologies for music; forgot to turn off my desktop audio record. I promise the sewers are not in a constant state of rave)

Victory! I've got region data embedded into the layouts now. All that's left to do is get the dungeons to run the region and event data and the new dungeon mode should be working!

Front-end for the new Dungeon Explorer is up and running! Just need to hook up the back-end and set up the concept of 'regions' in the DungeonLayout so I can have stuff like 'rooms' and all that.

Coming along quickly, I'd say!

Found out something really neat! If you use a single-layer tilemaplayer in your Godot and want to save/load it fast, use the pattern tools! It's as easy as storing a TileMapPattern variable in a Resource and then doing the below! RT to spread this timesaving pattern!

Now *this* ought to help speed up my dungeon layout designs for To Ash and Ember. Goodbye boring 4x4/6x6 square grids. Hello, bespoke locales!
