exactly, and most of those cases he cites rarely end up as heartwarming examples of whole communities turning on the powerful to support and uplift the abused and collectively change for the better

Some of these major institutions fall apart but often they just…rebuild. Like it never happened.
I’ve lived churchtoo up close and there is not a lot of hope there if what you want to hear is that people will ultimately do the right thing.

This one isn’t really about sex trafficking per se. It’s about the common misogyny so pervasive among our elites AND their willingness to overlook the crimes of rich or well connected peers. Also, why was anyone of any note still writing to Epstein after his stint in jail in 2009?

Adding this sentiment to the thread because I’m so irritated with the tone of today’s “revelations” and the resulting discourse.
If anyone in DC actually cared about justice for the victims we’d 1) have this info years ago 2) be openly labeling ALL of their abusers as such and 3) they’d be in jail.

My husband is very offline but he likes to tell me about all sorts of things (Taylor or other pop culture or just regular news) days after it hits on here and most of the time I fake not knowing already for this reason.

It looks like they just did a massive document dump so I guess we will see but at this point I want the whole thing. I don’t want to see what only the Democrats want us to see. I want to see it all.

Also this…why aren’t the Democrats calling on the President to resign? Why won’t they support impeachment?
So on Epstein, the Democratic position should be "Trump should resign." If you are a Democratic elected, practice saying "We demand the president's resignation" in front of a mirror as many times as it takes until the dry-heaving that comes from having a phobia about actually doing politics passes.

If they can leak all these documents from the past few months they can and should leak the whole report instead of dragging it out for maximum political gain.

When it comes to abuse scandals I’ve seen my fair share of the “good guys” being just as callous and manipulative as the bad, so spare me a “but this is all on the Republicans!”

And yes that report absolutely has things in it about Democrats and other public figures. I don’t think we know enough right now as how much that motivates the D strategy but I’m sure it’s a part of it. Like come on, none of this is new info and it took a bipartisan effort to cover it up until now.

but either there is more damaging evidence in the report which they already know about but are withholding from the American people or they gave us the worst already and this is going to turn into a shell game
