I don't think automatic AI detection is something that can actually work. It can spot the most obvious ones that are full of typical artifacts, but other that that, it's just snake oil. An AI cannot tell humans and AI apart any better than a human can, probably even worse.

Ich hoffe sehr, daß die deutsche Automobilindustrie möglichst bald möglichst vollständig kollabiert. Dann wird hier vielleicht endlich eine brauchbare Verkehrspolitik möglich, die nicht komplett vom Automobilismus verseucht ist.

ML can teach machines to recognise patterns. ML can also teach machines to synthesize patterns it has learned, guided by a prompt. Same thing, basically. LLMs are just systems like that trained on huge volumes of text.

ML is used for a whole lot of useful things, like training computers to read written text in image files or transcribe human speech. You train a model by letting it interact with a training environment or simulation (e.g., for robotics or for game AI) or by feeding it a lot of correct data.

Generative AI, whether LLMs or diffusion models or GANs or anything similar, are apllications of ML. Machine learning basically means that you take a huge pile of numbers that mimics a neural network and shuffle those numbers around to turn the whole thing into a machine that does heuristics.
