Desperate for there to be a single three bedroom home in the inner Eastside that me and my fiance could reasonably afford.

We need Inner Eastside or All passed urgently. City council should not allow BPS to drag it out into a multi-year project, as they have indicated they will do.

My rough view is there’s about, maybe, one half to one good film distributed throughout the Prequel Trilogy mixed in with the dreck

And a not insignificant portion is just Ewan being charming and McDiarmid chewing scenery
One of the funniest things about getting older is watching people my age succumb to nostalgia about these terrible films.
God its so insane anakin admits to slaughtering a bunch of kids and it’s just a non factor for padme

In Japan, tourism to Portland, Oregon, is promoted by a grinning blue monster named Odnarodude. He’s at a Portland artisan event in Jiyugaoka De Aone this weekend.

it is extremely funny that Greenwald was absolutely wrong to claim that the Democrats were the Woke CIA Party, but this is absolutely the direction pure chance is pulling us in

I don't think people fully realize how brutal a vise Republicans are in now. If they cave tomorrow Democrats get all the credit for giving people healthcare. If they somehow bypass the filibuster they get a year plus of headlines about ripping people's healthcare away.
"Republicans are keeping the government closed, starving kids, and making you miss your Thanksgiving flights because they want your healthcare costs to go through the roof" is actually a pretty effective message for Democrats

The New York Times' liberal readership could bring the newspaper to heal in a matter of 2 or 3 months if we just coordinated. Ross Douthat could be out on his ass. Patrick Healey could be filing for unemployment. We just need to will it into existence.
Good to see they aren't doing as well as they claimed, but we really need to start pushing people to cancel their games subscriptions
Lachlan Cartwright puts his magnifying glass on NYT's big subscription bump in the latest quarterly earnings report.

if you just look at the text of Wrath of Khan, it's pretty clear that the subtext is that while Kirk is not an abhorrent person, he has caused massive suffering to countless people through his careless sense that he is The Hero, and tons of people die because he believes he can cheat the system

We really need ODOT to take over the Mt Hood Express, and turn it into a one seat ride out of Portland.

Over twice the time to get to Govy by bus then by car is too much!

i'm still seeing people say things like "they don't intend to win elections", and, like, look at last night's results. those are not outcomes you can reject through slim efforts at trickery, those are overwhelming defeats that can't be ignored. stop letting your doom brain do their work.
a thing that i find really interesting about the results last night is that i can't see a way for republicans to course correct before the midterms without some pretty radical realignments. an awful lot of what people are mad as hell about is baked into the core of the party now.

the thing about the Wide Awakes is not only is it a cool historical reference, but colloquially it's also resonant with, and a natural progression from, being woke

if i were running for office i would absolutely call my volunteers “the wide awakes,” i would hand out wide awake pins and stickers and hats for people to wear and campaign events would have wide awake banners
THEY USED TO CALL US WOKE

NOW THEY CAN CALL US WIDE AWAKES
