Beautiful, and so happiness-inducing! I picked a bunch of jalapeño chiles today too. My sweet chiles and eggplants and winter squash are finally getting done! The rats just annihilated the last of my big tomatoes though. 😭🐀

I have no idea how that roof rat managed to get inside the house, but Dusty dispatched it with some good teamwork and an assist by Shiva. Perhaps a better question is how did 50% of my resident Extermination Strike Force manage to sleep through the whole thing?! Happy belated #Caturday!

The baby chiles are living their best lives yet taking shelter under the blood orange tree next to the roses. Many of them will be moving into their permanent homes after it cools off later this week. #Gardensky #GardeningOnConcrete

Morning inspection to see how my plants held up in yesterday's heat blast (96F after mostly chilly all year): Shade cloth did its job and the roses (in large containers on concrete out back) are fine. Even the newly-planted super-goth Black Baccara rose looks unfazed. #Gardensky #GardeningOnConcrete

We're a couple days out from #Caturday, but here is Shiva nonplussed at me dumping out a late-season haul of overly-mature mange-tout peas about half as big as he is while he was just sitting there minding his own business enjoying a sunbath. They should work ok as shelling peas.

Shiva was too knackered to jump up to the kitty donut on top of the piano, so he sacked out on the box of kitty toys next to the Ampeg B-15 parked under the piano.
