Back then, as a kid, I always thought they were 3 door versions of the Talbot Horizon. In hindsight I wonder why they just didn't make a 3 door Horizon and came up with this rehashed Avenger 🤔

Also, most side windows had to be blocked except part of the nearside side window, to prevent a blind spot for cyclists etc.
Before these rules, people were removing the back seats of Nissan Silvias and Volvo 480s to buy and run them cheaply 😅

Yeah, the car had to be able to carry a virtual block of a certain size, some cars were too short, others too low hence the different modifications.

As a temporary solution, maybe get a couple of those covers they use in workshops, they can be useful for future projects and maintenance too.
