“There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. You certainly usually find something... but it is not always quite the something you were after.”

Pseudonymous geologist in the San Francisco Bay Area. Signed up for too many starter packs.

I always wanted to explain some sorption processes as involving cat-like molecules. Ones that would easily slip into pores but could not be displaced or extracted without destroying the sorbent structure.

Not sure if anyone has done a large Turnstile concert yet. They have pretty active fans.

Fun stuff. I can barely move without getting recorded by their devices.

I'm sure ICE will find it very useful in the bay area when they decide to lay siege.

First time I‘ve seen the aurora over urban Oakland. Fog is helping contain the city lights a bit.

Wish I was camping in the mountains.

Weird beast.

Caught in the act of reducing its genome size after a recent doubling. Wonder how isolated populations on different sides of the globe will reduce genome size in different ways.

In the northern hemisphere the species is messing with freshwater food chains:

Are Trump’s murders off Latin America accelerating and do they matched the pattern of known serial killers?

Here is a comparison of Charles Cullen’s murders of hospital patients (left) with Trump’s killings of mariners (right). Cullen didn’t stop until he was arrested in 2003.
