⚓ Le 24 août 1887, quelque part au milieu du Pacifique, la mer était calme… Au plus grand désarroi du capitaine! Ce genre de saillie graphique est plutôt rare dans les rapports de mer et permet de prendre du recul au sujet de la patience des marins. 😅

Parution du collectif ‘Les Normands, acteurs de la mondialisation’ chez La Geste Editions, collection PUNA. Ravi d’avoir participé à l’édition de ce bel ouvrage en excellente compagnie.

In 1898, the Chinese territory of Guangzhouwan fell under French control. Soon attached to the General Government of Indochina, this confetti of empire became a French narcocolony, surviving thanks to the opium trade until its retrocession in 1945.
