W seems more your vibe but Kuuga's pretty GOATed for what it is.

The whole series was except for VFD, which was Sega internal instead cause the series as a whole was produced by the late Rieko Kodama of Phantasy Star/Skies of Arcadia fame. Even after the developer of the first three games shut its doors, there were still people at Sega who ensured it concluded.

I'm in the middle of doing that right now myself. It says a lot that Kodama made sure the series still had a proper conclusion even after imageepoch vanished into the aether, I think.

People will remember this developer for dumb stuff like Arc Rise Fantasia or Time and Eternity and not for their actual best games. Sad to think about honestly. If only they hadn't stretched themselves too thin and burned out during 7th gen...

6 is great, 4 is maybe a touch too experimental and also has a horrible translation, 5 is flawed but kinda fun and has some unique stuff.
