Responsible parents leave their children behind in war zones. Apparently.
BBC News: "the government believe refugees are deliberately bringing their children to avoid deportation"

As opposed to doing what with their children??

Nobody "needs" gifts but people need people and the holidays in healthy societies are a time to express that. Society not being healthy is a sad, not a big smiling happy. If we can't afford something we don't beat ourselves up about it. But it's something we need to fix, not make peace with.
Fox guest on how to save money during the holidays:

"Remember, adults don't need gifts. Focus on the people in your life who are aged 3 to 18. Grandma doesn't need slippers. If they don't live by you, don't get them a gift."

Over a third of the old internet no longer exists, 87% of all video games before 2009 are lost media, 40% of the Million Dollar Homepage was dead links as of 2019, etc.

*And* this media void is being filled with mindboggling quantities of ai slop.
