There’s a bit on one of the Phoenix Nights DVD commentaries where Kay et al start off talking gibberish in ‘foreign’ accents, and then Kay says something like ‘that’s for all you asylum seekers!’ I’d dig it out if it wasn’t so cold in the attic.

What has to be avoided is letting special cases be used by bad actors to try to undermine the whole tax for their own, less deserving, benefit. Don't let them pretend (for example) that everyone with a £2m house is a poor granny with a bad back and tiny income... 3/3
